IRELANDS

Photographs 2017-ongoing

Tracing my relationship to Irish identity, diasporic experience, loss and longing, this project captures reminders of an Ireland whose defining lines are blurring in my mind. I lived as an illegal immigrant in the United States in my childhood, and I have now lived away from Ireland longer than I ever lived in it, but Irishness remains central to my identity. Resembling medieval maps, IRELANDS charts the island of Ireland as a shifting, imagined territory I see wherever I am in the world.
